Let’s reminisce about Newcastle Noir 2016!

It all began on a beautiful Friday night with Ann Cleeves launching the festival:

The Saturday kicked off with a very lively Nordic panel, with Lilja SigurđardóttirYrsa SigurđardóttirSólveig Palsdottir and Antti Tuomainen:

Novellas and Short Stories were up next with Quentin BatesDaniel PembreyPaul Gitsham and Cath Staincliffe:

After a well-deserved lunch it was time to travel to Mexico with Élmer Mendoza and Mauricio Montiel Figueiras:

After an exhilarating trip to Central America, we travelled through time with the historical panel of Frances BrodyKate Griffin and Clare Carson:

As the evening drew near, Thriller took centre stage, with Paul HardistyYusuf ToropovMichael Grothaus and Craig Robertson:

With darkness settling in, Newcastle Noir finished the day with some supernatural, with AK BenedictLucy CameronAlexandra Sokoloff and Oscar de Muriel:

After a good night sleep Newcastle Noir resumed with a bang with Brit Noir featuring Susi HollidaySarah WardHelen CadburyBarry Forshaw and Amanda Jennings:

We then left the British shore and headed for Iceland, Norway and Finland with Mari HannahGunnar StaalsenKati Hiekkapelto and Jónína Leosdóttir:

The journey then continued with the Writing Elsewhere panel featuring Alex ShawBarbara NadelMichael Stanley and Ayo Onatade:

The audience gathered in excitement and we were privileged to welcome the great Val McDermid to Newcastle Noir:

After such an established author it was great to check out the New Blood with Graham SmithCol BuryAlison Taylor-Bailie and Amit Dhand:

As the evening approached it was time to say good-bye with a conversation between Sophie Hannah and Sheila Quigley:
